About $mart Marketing On Any Budget

If you’re a start-up, a small business, a non-profit, club, rock band or religious group – or if you just hate waste – you MUST get the absolute biggest bang from your limited marketing bucks, right?

Of course. If you can’t pursue success by spending, you’ll have to do it with smarts.

This blog will help you do just that.

It contains an arsenal of practical advice and ideas gleaned from my long career in advertising, PR and other persuasion arts, as well as brilliant tactics cherry-picked from a host of other marketing, media and e-commerce experts.

All of these ROI-maximizing ideas can be achieved on even a modest budget. Many can be undertaken for free. ALL this information is free for you to use, whenever you need it, at $mart Marketing On Any Budget.

Hi, I’m BBlackwood

I’ve spent 30+ eye-opening years in marketing, publicity and promotion. Even though I worked for some of the most prominent marketing firms in my region, I’m from a small, rather rural Mid-American state.

Many of the accounts I worked on didn’t bill enough to cover some big national ad agencies’ copying charges. And yet many of our clients were competing with the big agencies’ multi-million dollar blue chip clients. Successfully.

To help them do that, I had to learn to cut corners everywhere and still deliver first-class results. I got paid a pretty handsome salary for my penny-pinching creativity (unless you compare it to what the Big Agency Stars knock down; I knew one Detroit Creative Director who had a sports agent negotiating his contracts.)

These days, thanks to the Internet, I am able to run a virtual agency that can match anything a multi-national marketing firm produces – except their 50-page bills. (No kidding, one of my former agencies had to send some heftier invoices in boxes.)

I regularly help my clients save money while working the high end of the Marketing Bang-for-Buck Index. For them, too, the Internet has become the greatest low-budget marketing tool in history. It’s a magic portal to not just an audience but ANY audience, anywhere. Free. (Well, free-ish.)

My agency can’t help every business, organization or group one-to-one – availability is the single flaw of a virtual marketing firm – so I’m sharing a lot of the secrets I’ve learned the hard way through the years. And especially those I’ve learned in this brave new Internet world.

They can be great savers for asset-light marketers. DIY and save!

Cheers!

BB

Information marked $S means Smart for Starters – it will be of the most use to fledgling businesses or organizations. When you see $E, that means the information is Smart for the Established – of most use to an ongoing entity. To simplify a bit, $S tactics help you be noticed, $E tactics help you be remembered. Combined with your own good business practices, both can lead you to be preferred by your audience.
